newterra’s patented MicroClear® fi lter consists of a series of durable, specially designed polypropylene plates sandwiched by ultrafi ltration (UF) membranes. The fi lters are submerged in mixed liquor in a separate membrane tank, while clean permeate is drawn through the membranes using a slight negative pressure. The 0.04 μm pores of the membranes physically block particles, bacteria and viruses.
